This toolkit addresses the topics of respect and equality in the workplace – the laws that mandate it, and how our organizations can benefit from fair and considerate treatment of every individual.
The primary problem in workplace discrimination is one of recognition. We may think that we treat everyone the same – it may even be a point of pride – but it might not be the truth. The average workplace brings each of us into contact with a wide variety of people, and it’s all too common to find that – as a wise man once put it – we treat some more “equally” than others. A narrator introduces three workplace scenarios demonstrating a wide variety of discriminatory and harassing behaviors. The ignorance of the offenders is clear to the viewing audience and the negative impact of these actions is made apparent as each scenario concludes. The narrator identifies the specific laws prohibiting the workplace behaviors exhibited and emphasizes the importance of tolerance and respect on the job.
